Orlando Pirates are monitoring a Polokwane City defender, according to insiders privy to information.
Siya sources have indicated that the player in question is right back Thabang Matuludi and that Pirates may want to bring him on board next season.

The 25-year-old has been in good form for Rise and Shine, having played 18 matches in the PSL this season so far. He has also played three cup games and has scored two goals in all competitions which is a good contribution for a defender.
Sources have added that Matuludi could be one of the top targets for the Buccaneers as they try to reinforce their right back position for next season.
"There have been other teams that were interested in Thabang (Matuludi) before but nothing serious came out of that. Now Pirates are monitoring him and it seems they are more serious compared to the other two teams which made inquiries during the Afcon break and the January transfer window period," said the Siya source.
"It could happen if all the parties agreed on terms and conditions but this is something serious," the source said.
A second Siya source stated that Pirates want to have options in each department as they need that depth to fight for honours in Africa next season.
"You remember at times Paseka Mako used to play as a right back and now they have promoted Jabulani Mokone because they want to have strong competition in that position and that's why they are looking and inquiring about Thabang (Matuludi). The scouting department are the ones looking into that but working hand in hand with the technical team," the source observed.
Soccer Laduma has contacted Orlando Pirates for a comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
