Manchester City have announced their first signing of the January transfer window.

On Thursday, the Citizens confirmed the impending arrival of teenage Argentine sensation Claudio Echeverri.

Claudio has signed a contract until June 2028 but will remain at River before moving to the Etihad Stadium in January next year.

The 18-year-old has joined last season's treble champions from Argentina-based giants River Plate, but will remain on loan at the club until January 2025.
Echeverri, an attacking midfielder, made headlines last year when he scored a hat-trick against Brazil at the U17 FIFA World Cup, a performance that attracted attention from top clubs around the world.
The talented starlet, who has already spent time training with his country's senior team, follows in Julian Alvarez's footsteps in signing for Pep Guardiola's side from River.
